What is ScamJam?

ScamJam is a mystery international camp happening in 2027 run by South East District Scout Network. The destination of the camp is a secret to everyone attending until the morning we depart.

When is ScamJam 2027?

ScamJam is running from the 10th – 14th June 2027

Who can attend ScamJam 2027

To attend ScamJam you must be between 18 and 24 through the camp, meaning anyone born between 15th June 2002 and 10th June 2009 can attend.

Everyone attending must be a member of a scout network. If you are not currently a member of a scout network, we can help you join one.

It is possible that more people apply for ScamJam than spaces we have available. If this is the case, we will draw names randomly from all who have applied.

How much is ScamJam 2027 and what is included?

ScamJam 2027 will cost £398, (which is less than ScamJam 2025.) This includes:

• Transport to and from the destination from Scotland
• Transport in the destination country
• ScamJam Badge
• Accommodation
• Activities – Including the ‘now infamous’ ScamJam Bingo
• Breakfasts and Dinners
• Travel Insurance
• Skate hire (if required)

What is not included?

• Lunch
• ETIAS – This is a new travel authorisation system the European Union is due to introduce by the end of 2026 and will be required for all travel to the EU. This is expected to cost €20 and lasts for 3 years. To maximise mystery, this document will be required regardless of the destination.

We strongly believe that international scouting should be as affordable as possible which is why we will work to keep the cost of the camp as low as possible. This may involve running some fundraising events in the lead up to the camp, which we hope anyone attending would help support. We’ve been able to price the camp £1 cheaper than ScamJam 2025, and if we continue at this rate, ScamJam 2823 will be free!

What is the payment schedule?

• First payment is £148 and will be due by 24th August 2026
• Second payment is £125 and will be due by 30th November 2026
• Third (and final) payment is £125 and will be due by 30th March 2027

What is the timeline for ScamJam 2027?

Applications for ScamJam are open now, and close on 9th August at 23:59. We will not be able to accept applications after this date.

We will confirm by the 11th August if your application has been successful, and first payment will be due 24th August.
